Everyone else at Asylum

Aldis Hodge is a fucking scream. He said he used to do stand-up, and it shows; he has a smart line for everything, and his timing is exquisite. In the opening panel, he told a story about how fangirls keep bullying him into doing embarrassing things such as dancing onstage by telling him he promised them he'd do it. Naturally, we shout "Dance, Aldis! You promised!" and then proceed to use it against him unmercifully for the rest of the weekend - which may have been his intention. (At one point, someone tries this on Misha. He sneers, "That doesn't work on me. I'm not Aldis!")

Aldis' favourite phrases appear to be, "I'm just sayin'" and "Lord ha' mercy!", and he calls questioners "Girl" in the same sexy inviting drawl as Derek Morgan does to Garcia on Criminal Minds. Unf.

Are Hardison and Parker ever gonna get past the UST stage? "They can't get to the milk and cookies yet, they gotta earn it!"

He talked about fangirls' different accents, how Americans don't realize how many dialects there are in England. He does a few impressions for laughs.

Would he work on Star Trek? "Yeah, I could be the new Klingon. Put wrinkles on my head!" Then he throws the live-long-and-prosper handsign.

He drags his Mum onstage and makes us sing Happy Birthday to her. We are enthusiastic and offkey.

(Joint Panel with Mark)
He talks about the actors who have swapped between SPN and Leverage. Who else would the fangirls like to see doing that? CHRISTIAN KANE, scream I (and others). "Y'all want Christian? Well... I know some people who know some people..."

The suggestion of Aldis showing his abs comes up from Mark. Lots of baying, and YOU PROMISED. He shows his (gorgeous) abs, and is nearly flattened by the wave of oestrogen.

Aldis suggests an SPN/Leverage crossover: Let's all go steal hell!
Mark: *deadpan* I already did that.

Re onscreen gore on SPN
Mark: The blood is why I do it!
Aldis: SPN is balls to the wall!

Aldis' favourite characters he played in Leverage:
Veteran with crazy eyes
Violin player in the Scheherezade Job

There is some mention of Aldis and push-ups made in the same sentence.
Me: (lone voice) YOU PROMISED!
Assembled Fangirls: *bust a gut laughing*
He drags a fan up to do pushups with him. He does 10, then 5 more one-armed. The oestrogen level is now palpable.

We give him an audience chant, "Aldis! Aldis! ALDIS!" He is grinning madly and basking in it.

A fangirl asks him to do an answerphone message for her boyfriend, who is "too scared" to ask himself. Aldis comes out into the audience and drags him onstage, then records a ludicrously smooth, sassy message on his phone for him.

Jake Abel does a truly awesome Dean impression, and Julie McNiven does a truly abysmal Misha impression. That's literally all I have to say about either of them; I missed all but the last five minutes of their first panel, and as I was leaving the con I passed them both walking into their second panel.

Frederic Lehne tells godawful jokes, "Skeleton walks into a pub, says, Landlord give me a pint... and a mop!" He says he hasn't slept in 24 hours, but then he gets them to play the intro of Highway to Hell and bounces out into the audience, fistpumping with gusto. Back on stage, he doubletakes towards the doors, "Hiya Misha, how ya doing! ... ha, made you look! Gullible!"

On working with Simon Baker, "He's really cute! I'm completely heterosexual, but he's just So Cute! He just smiles at people and gets away with everything!"

Someone asks him, if the YED had to kiss Mary to bring John back, does that mean he had to kiss John to bring Dean back. "I'm confused! And a little aroused!"

He apparently likes to tease fangirls with risque comments and double entendres. There was something - I forget the context - about sucking blood, and he said "There was no kissing, just sucking."

Mark says Star Trek Voyager was the most miserable set he's ever worked on, except for Jeri Ryan who was great.

After lots of sidestepping and repeated questioning, he finally admits to currently filming on Doctor Who, "Oh, what the hell, I got busted by the paparazzi shopping in the Apple store in Cardiff! What else am I gonna be doing in Cardiff? Dead giveaway."

On kissing Bobby: "It would have been fine if he hadn't slipped me the tongue!" On his first onscreen male-male kiss in Abandon All Hope, "He was the only middle-aged actor they could find who was willing to kiss another guy on camera - in theory. He was really big and really nervous - especially after I said 'Pucker up, Buttercup!' so his neck was really sweaty - urrggghhh! Compared with that, Jim was easy!"

Best pressie ever? "My kids." Also, his wife bought him an autographed first British edition of Last Exit To Brooklyn (published after the ban was lifted) - he knew the author personally while he was still alive, but never got him to sign anything.

Mark repeatedly kept fucking with us, asking us if we were sure Crowley wasn't dead, hinting or pretending to hint that it was gonna happen. It was pointed out by hecklers that nobody is really dead in SPN anyway.

When asked what his hellhound's name is, "Steve. All dogs should be called Steve. Or Dave... Or Ruby."

Favourite Crowley line: "Where's your moose?"

That was me!

I missed you over the weekend but had a blast.

So I did see you, I just didn't know it!

Fred was lovely, what with the deep voice and the craggy face and the big smile! I am nursing a new crush on him.

Aw, I missed all that Fred stuff because my group was called for autographs. He was great though :) so funny and ridiculously nice when I went to get my stuff signed.

He was, wasn't he? A handshake and a big smile for everybody, even though he was so freaking tired he looked like he was gonna fall asleep on the spot! Before the con, I was like, "Yellow Eyed Demon, meh, big deal," and now I have a huge crush.

Hehe, aww. I don't think I have a crush, but I do really like him, and would be more excited about seeing him at a con again.

Well, he's much more of an age-appropriate crush for me than he would be for you! :) Him and Mark both. Gravelly-voiced, well-worn guys in early middle age, yum!

Aw, I loved Mark so much! He was awesome in his panel, and then in the photo ops he was like 'what's your name?' to everyone :D and he said I had very blue eyes in my picture when I went to get it signed.

OK, so I'm totally and uttely late with commenting on this. *fail*

Guh. When he did that I kind of felt like I was going to explode. Aldis!
I miss Aldis. Is that weird? :P

"I'm confused! And a little aroused!"
OMG, he said that? And I missed it! Damn.

Favourite Crowley line: "Where's your moose?"
After this con, it's kind of my favorite as well. :P

Fred really did say that! And my brain instantly supplied a picture of him tangling tongues with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and UNF UNF UNF WANT SO MUCH. Such a tease, Freddy!

There's loads of stuff on other people's write-ups that I missed, too, even though I was in the relevant panel. Nobody can take in everything when you're there for so long - you try to pay attention, but occasionally the brain wanders. I kept spacing out on Misha, "Mmmm, prettttyyy. Shiiiinnnnyyyy."

Unf. Yes, yes, yes! Gooooooood mental picture...

I kept spacing out on Misha, "Mmmm, prettttyyy. Shiiiinnnnyyyy."
Haha, yeah, who wouldn't? Damn, that man is hot.
